  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

The quarter-life crisis sucks. You have discovered the only way through: booze.

;)

Seriously, though-- it is very frustrating when it feels like you are walking uphill continually, but not moving. But you are. And you will finish school and find a job you L*U*V. Definetely. In the interim, it is splendiforous that you have a such a snazzy roommate as Natti-- woohoo!!

I miss you, friend! Happy Thanksgiving!

Claire,
I actually have full benefits (including dental)--and of course including the beer! I am going to try and bring some home in my suitcase for christmas--we'll see how well that works! Hope you are feeling better!
Love, Alix

Alix--
It's official. You have the best straight-out-of-college job EVER. You definitely know how to live the life.

Love,
Your sis
